Today is the first day of the second week. I only have 5 more weeks here including this week. This year's program is extremely different compared to the 2 summers ive done the summer program. This year is way more scheduled then previous years. We do some things the same way as we did but things are alot different too. Im not enjoying this year as much as before. I would really like to be home. I am more homesick then ive ever been. Mondays seem to be the day i enjoy the most for classes. I have to present my animals presentation today, which im not too excited for. I hate talking in front of people.

Snake Swallowed Hippo

this is a video of a snake who swallowed a hippo.
the video is kind of blurry but you can definitely tell what is going on.
So today is my second day of writing in this blog. Today it is supposed to be about the interest i mentioned yesterday. As said before, i have a big interest in snakes. I wrote about my project i did last summer yesterday and today while i opened my flashdrive, i found my snakes paper. After seeing that, it made me think about how i felt about snakes when i was younger. I still liked them then, but not as much as i do now. I would go around looking in my backyard for holes that i thought snakes could fit into and live. I would stick my hand in there seeing if i could find one; i never did. I did in fact find a yarn one time. It was placed by my next door neighbor Dennis. He watched me look at every hole, so he thought it'd be funny if i thought i actually found a snake. I can look back on it now laughing, however i didnt back then. I was very upset and went inside.

Welcome to this is a story of a girl..

My name is Aimee Davis. I am 17 years old from Des Moines, Iowa. I am in communications class at Simpson College. I am in the Simpson College Upward Bound program. I did this blog wrong, we were supposed to do this on an interest on something we have and i started it as a personal use. Anyway, i am interested in snakes. I am thinking about becoming a herpetologist. I love working with animals other than cuddly ones you snuggle with. Last summer here at Simpson, i worked with Dr. Parmelee and the snakes. We conducted different tests experimenting with the snakes' speed vs. their body type(length, weight). This experiment was conducted for my research paper. The experiments and tests were all original.
